Privacy Policy
Effective October 17, 2026
Short version: Hushscribe does not collect any data about you. Your audio never leaves your iPhone.
What stays on your iPhone
Recordings you make, files you import, transcripts, your edits and your settings are stored only inside the app on your device. Transcription runs on the iPhone itself. We have no server, so there is nowhere for this data to be sent, and we cannot see it.
Deleting a recording in the app removes its audio and transcript. Deleting the app removes everything it stored.
If you use iCloud Backup or a computer backup, iOS may include the app's recordings and transcripts in that backup, under your Apple account. Downloaded speech models are excluded from backups.
Microphone
The app asks for microphone access only when you first tap Record, and uses it only to record audio that you then transcribe on the device.
Network use
Hushscribe connects to the internet for two things only:
- Downloading the speech model — a public file fetched from huggingface.co the first time you use a model. No personal data, audio or text is sent. As with any web request, that server sees your IP address.
- In-app purchase — handled by Apple through the App Store. We receive no payment or personal details.
No analytics, ads or tracking
The app contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or attribution software, and does not track you across apps or websites. Its App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”.
Children
Because the app collects no personal information, it collects none from children either.
